The seats are uncomfortable as hell

January 26, 2014

The seats are the worst. I leave with a sore back every time. We have stopped going to the longer films there. Really hope they get new seats soon, it's only going to get worse otherwise. Price is pretty standard for theaters these days and I've never had a issue with the service but the seats have got to go. Smell was bad in the theatre last visit too but it was packed and it was January 1st, I think a few people were sweating out their hangovers.

Poor Planning for Family Movie Show Times

January 20, 2014

Terribly disappointed in this theatre for poorly planning showtimes to make G movies accessible to families. With the release of Jack Ryan, you chose to show this PG movie at 6:40pm and bumped Saving Mr. Banks, a G-rated movie for families, to 9:15 pm. Where' the logic there? I'm not about to take my child to the movies after her bedtime. Furthermore, you no longer have a matinee on the weekend for this movie. Again, poor planning and no thought behind this decision. Very disappointing!

Don't forget your CASH!!!!

January 05, 2014

The concession drives me crazy,it will only accept cash. In this day and age, I find that insane.....but wait, there is a cash machine where you can get cash from and pay a fee for doing so!

Theater was OK

November 01, 2013

Not sure why all the bad reviews but I didn't find it that bad. Saw Captain Phillips and was glad I did. Makes me wonder if those with the bad reviews had an ake to grind??? I thought all theaters had sticky floors and who buys crap at the concessions anyway. Would go again no problem.

seriously WAY over priced for what you get

October 30, 2013

The prices are outrageous, seats are terrible, service sub par at best. As far as I'm concerned this theater needs a major over haul from top to bottom, starting with the management. I actually miss our old theaters in town. At least it was affordable for a family to see a film :(

Rundown

October 05, 2013

This theater used to be pretty good. I think it was really only because the other theaters in town were in such deplorable state. Over the years the seats have become every bit as bad as the ones in the old theater on 5th street and that truly is saying something. Most seats have no stuffing or springs and are stained. The overall feeling one gets in this place is that it is well past its prime and the owners have no interest in keeping it up. Sad. Courtenay deserves better than this and this is why so many customers go to either Nanaimo, Campbell River or rent from Red Box.

not worth the money

September 06, 2013

Concession is outrageous prices...admission is expensive because most movies are 3D so slwsys $3.50 more just for 3D...seats are uncomfortable as hell..almost $1 for a squirt of butter! Come on. Better to rent movie on shaw digital and make your own popcorn and drinks while on comfy couch!
