Affordable and vintage cool

March 01, 2018

I love this theatre. It has a vintage vibe to it and has a massive bag o' popcorn for $5! Two of us went for a matinee and both had popcorn and a drink and got out for $20. Plus the recliners are comfie and it just felt cool.

Hidden Gem - Awesome Experience

April 26, 2019

Our family absolutely loves this cinema. It is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Hugely economical for a family of four, an evening out including drinks and popcorn is under $50. Also..... oops.... there's a bar on site for those wishing to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. We lived in Toronto for over 20 years, in one of the funkiest downtown neighbourhoods and would consider this an outstanding rep cinema with a really low key and enjoyable vibe. I am simply amazed not more people have found out about it. Cat's out of the bag now..!!

Great place

August 19, 2014

Yes the lazy boy seating is wonderful, we all know that. However this theater is one of the most enjoyable places to watch a movie in Barrie. $5 tickets, and I'm happy to know it's not going to cineplex. The movies are not the usual movies you would see in any theater (the grand budapest hotel) the screens are big, and the fact that not many people go, which is bad in a way, I love! Noise is non existent and seats are ALWAYS available! So glad this cinema reopened I loved the imperial.

Best Place in Town

July 27, 2013

They dont get all the new movies out first, but there is never a packed theater or a line. I perfer this than going a sitting in a theater where everyone is side by side and talking/texting.

Love the reclining chairs and really appreciate the variety of movies. Have seen some amazing shows there that not come to the bigger theatres.

Great movie value and variety in the heart of downtown Barrie!

December 13, 2014

I don't know how they make money charging $5 (taxes in) for a matinee movie...but it's the best deal around! My husband and I often go to a 4:00 Saturday movie ($10 total), then walk to one of the fabulous downtown Barrie restaurants for dinner afterwards. It's even better when we get theater #3 with it's comfy reclining seats! Movie variety at the Barrie Uptown is fabulous. They bring in the BFF (Barrie Film Fest) each fall, and also have film fest movies the first Wednesday/Thursday of each month, and then another one on the third Thursday for "date night". My only complaint is that cleanliness is sometimes an issue. We had to brush popcorn off our seats last weekend before sitting down (from the previous patrons). However, the good far outweighs this minor inconvenience for us.

Recliner theatre is the best!

October 24, 2015

Love the recliner seating. Ticket and concession prices are the lowest in the area.

Really....

July 07, 2014

I honestly did not like my experience, the customer service was excellent but the video quality was poor and the cleanliness was poor (especially the bathrooms). I would not recommend theater to others because of the reasons listed above and the price was too high for what what you got.
