They need more ADULT movies. Caprice centers on CHILDREN'S movies. That's a real drag.

March 02, 2019

The owners can't seem to grasp that there are actual grownups living in Duncan B.C., that don't like children's movies and watch adult movies. This cinema focuses on Cartoon Movies and Super Hero Movies for kids. They've gone so far as to advertise adults movies are coming, The Snowman being one; and when I asked why it wasn't in when it was supposed to be, they replied that they advertise but might not bring in what they advertise. Unreal. So that was a miss. They bring in Shattered, stop it after 2 days and put up another children's movie; for a choice of literally 3 children's movies that week. Mar. 3/2019 week, we've got 2 childrens movies and some stupid Rebel Wilson adolescent (not adult) comedy. Dunan Cinema, please get in smart, ADULT movies. Thrillers, Drama, Action. Sci Fi. FOR GROWN UPS. Duncan is actually a town with adults that enjoy watching movies for adults. We don't all have kids. And those that do, we still leave the kids at home to watch adult movies. A LOT. Duncan is not just a town whose adults drive their kids to children's movies. If you're not putting in adult movies because of your religious beliefs and you don't like the content of adult movies, would you kindly put your beliefs to the side, so we adults, can access the Duncan Cinema for adult movies, since we live here.

New Owners - New Ideas

June 20, 2014

The theatre has no owners, now management and finally, a debit machine. They are making changes to building, concessions and upgrading to digital. FINALLY!! Can't wait till it's all done.

Pros and cons

March 16, 2015

Like the new screen, 3D availability and digital picture clarity. Chairs look good and were comfortable. BUT that was after waiting in line for over 1/2 hour while EVERYONE was funneled through one till at the concession. The till is still there inside the door for tickets only, why not use it? Many people were going inside while member of party stood in line, theoretically to pay for all.. The same 3 staff could have manned the ticket sales and concessions on both sides of the counter. One of the units that dispenses overpriced toys was almost tipped over by a very little fellow whose prize had stuck in the tube. Hope there is enough profit in those units to cover extra liability insurance.

I dont mind this theatre but the fact that it rarely plays movies that are for Young adults not just kids and teens so that gets kinda annoying.

Same old stains on ceiling as 20 yrs ago

November 07, 2015

Only theatre in town so we usually have to go to Vic or Nanaimo. Would love more comfortable seats. Due to back injury a more comfortable seat would prob make us more inclined to go to Duncan over another town.

Please fix the quality of the 3D movies

March 31, 2017

My family of 5 went to see Beauty and the Beast last week. I myself thought because I wear glasses already that it was my vision that was causing the movie to appear quite blurry, but then one of my children said his was blurry, then a second one also complained. It costs a family of 5 A LOT of money to see a movie in a theatre and I feel we didn't get any value for our money. This was our second attempt at a 3d movie there, we went to see Lego Batman last month and it was so dark and again blurry. I assumed it was a one off and that is why we made the second attempt.

Movies RARELY Change! Been here 3 weeks

January 04, 2020

Came to town within first week of December, now the beginning of January and the SAME movies STILL on! Poor kids in this community missed out over the holidays - guess everyone just goes to Nanaimo. Been wanting to see a movie each week - but nothing changed. So bad.

Sound Issues

February 20, 2018

Went to see Black Panther today. Unfortunately they were having serious issues with the sound. Scratchy(distortion) sounds throughout and the voices were not very loud. Multiple people left early. And still selling tickets to the next show. A very bad experience.
