We enjoy going to the movies at the Riato

October 31, 2016

The seats are not the best but not the worst either. yes the concession stand is pricy as they all are. They usually have the up to date movies to watch and also lots of movies for kids on the weekends so we will keep on enjoying ourselves.

Fricking bad seats, but popcorn from Jesus

July 13, 2018

The seats, frick they are terrible. The noise can be bad at times but the popcorn omg the popcorn. The popcorn is stuff you dream about, after you eat it you will be hooked, you will think the popcorn was sent here from heaven

Run down theater but has very nice staff that always try and help in any way they can. I think most of the theaters problems are just the building itself. Upper management is the problem that wont fund a real theater.

I like this quaint theatre

August 15, 2017

This quiant theatre has character not found in the new theatres. Sadly, landmatk needs to start paying attention to upkeep. It feels like they have given up on this theatre ... a theatre that could be a gem with staff more dedicated to daily upkeep and a bit of extra building maintenance.

Not THAT bad, but not great either

June 20, 2016

I don't know what to say about the management as I don't work there, but the staff seem ok, if a bit dis-interested. The place doesn't look spectacular, but it's not by any means high class. The seats are ok, but not great. My point is that this place is not THE WORST theater in existence. I get the experience I expect upon coming here. I go in, get the stuff I need, and watch a movie with enough sound for it to be enjoyed. Sure the place could easily be *better* but I'm not gonna get huffy and slam it to the ground for it. It's mediocre, yes, and people deserve a bit better. I simply don't think it's a 1 star theater. The overall rating it has it what it deserves.

Most uncomfortable seats ever

August 19, 2015

If the Rialto wasn't the only theatre in town, I probably wouldn't be going due to the seats. I have a bad back at the best of times, and I hobble out of there every time I go. I love going to movies for the whole experience of popcorn, watching a movie and having a date night with my wife. Please start some fund raising and purchase some more comfortable seats.

Theater was OK

November 01, 2013

Not sure why all the bad reviews but I didn't find it that bad. Saw Captain Phillips and was glad I did. Makes me wonder if those with the bad reviews had an ake to grind??? I thought all theaters had sticky floors and who buys crap at the concessions anyway. Would go again no problem.

Usually good popcorn but was terrible!!!

November 01, 2016

We saw The Accountant at the Courtenay theatre which was great but the popcorn was terrible!!! This is the first time that the popcorn was non edible. Not many of the popcorn had popped or had halfway popped! We told a person behind the counter and she just said that others had complained about it the past couple days. So why are they selling it!!!! Or sell it for $1 a bag! And it's not worth that. Will not be going to that theatre until they fix the popcorn kettle.

We are screaming for better seats

October 07, 2016

Seats are low, uncomfortable and outdated. My partner needed help to stand up and we both found it difficult to sit through the entire movie because of the stiff hard seats.

sore back

May 16, 2017

Needs new seats with more space between -- should not have to share arm rests. Food is very pricey -- $5 for popcorn is crazy. No movies on the board outside -- not everyone is connected. Would be nice to have one day during the week to have a matinee for all us retired folk.
