fine

January 07, 2014

i have been to this venue on quite a few occasions, and i have had nothing but good experiences. The lines are generally small, unless you are going to the opening day of a big movie. As for the prices for food i would say that this theater is reasonable compared with the astronomical price you will pay at any bigger center. This is a small theater with a small market. What else would you expect?

Great for a small town.

June 14, 2023

My favorite theater in the area. I come from the city. Down there it's hard to beat. But they're doing their best to survive just like everybody else these days. Love the family movie nights or date nights here. 😊

Better than most

April 17, 2014

Line ups are much smaller for new movies than in Vancouver where I come from. Wait times are shorter for popcorn.

going to trail

December 15, 2015

I live in CG, but go to Trail for movies. Castlegar screens are small, seats are uncomfortable, and 3D quality is poor. I prefer an big old style theatre rather a multiplex. Service is fine, if a bit slow to get in the door.

M'eh

December 26, 2013

Very annoying to arrive 20 minutes before the movie starts and then have to wait 15 minutes in line just to buy tickets. Then another 15 minutes to buy overpriced concessions snacks. For a theatre with more than 1 screen, this is unacceptable.

More variety please

August 08, 2014

If you are into children's movies, violence, block busters, then this can be your venue. If you want to see some of the more quality, artistic films......won't happen. So many, many good movies never appear. Why is that? I do go because I love lots of movies but need to totally leave Castlegar to get some of the hit more off beat movies. Lets have some variety. Please.

sudden schedule changes

October 04, 2019

It takes us an hour to get to the theatre and when the movie you came to watch suddenly isn't showing, even though advertised that day, sucks.

Same crappy theatre as always

July 25, 2019

I was last here when I worked here over 17 years ago. Everything is still EXACTLY the same. Pros: - There isn’t many theatre options in the area - The theatre is generally pretty clean Cons - They don’t take any other payment method but cash (what century are we in?) Conveniently for them they have an ATM machine there where they make more money off of you in service charges. - The concession is ridiculously overpriced even for theatre standards. Plus, the guy almost shorted me on my change until I noticed because they calculate everything manually and don’t use any sort of till. - When asking for a cup to put the bottled water I was buying for my 4 year old I was offered a dixie cup. I explained I needed one with a lid and told me he didn’t have one. I was then told if I wanted a normal cup with a lid I had to pay the $4 as if I was buying it to put pop in it even though I WAS BUYING WATER TO GO IN IT ALREADY. - Same old crappy seats and cupholders You think in the almost 20 years this place has been opened they would at least make some upgrades. If I am going to spend $50 for a movie I am not going to spend it here that’s for sure.

No Debit Machines.

April 20, 2019

Fair theatre but no debit available. While waiting to access the one ATM, people walk by you in line. Concession is all candy. Nothing without sugar.
