Oscar worthy

Too rarely we get to enjoy a true and excellent film like this. Outstanding performances by each actor and the real chemistry between them was visceral. Didn't know George VI had such a wry sense of humour. Some great laughs too!

User review rating: 5 December 23, 2010

Stellar cast - great performance from all 3 leads - will definitely receive multiple Oscar nods on this one.

User review rating: 5 December 23, 2010

Just saw this movie and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chosen actors played their parts ever so well. I was not expecting the humour, but it was stitched in perfectly.

Best movie of the Year! Colin Firth; Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter are shoe-ins for Academy award nominations (and wins!!)

User review rating: 5 December 23, 2010

One of the best films that I have seen this year. The acting by Colin Firth, Geoffery Rush and Helena Bonham Carter was just superb. A "must" see film.

Great Movie and historic subject matter.

Very interesting movie, excellent acting by Colin Firth as you could feel his pain at trying to conquer his stuttering.

An amazing story! No wonder the director had waited for 30 years to make the movie.

Not a chic-flic, not an action-flic, no sex and no violence. And guess what? You cannot NOT like this film. Absolutely Oscar material and a definite 'keeper' .

User review rating: 4 December 21, 2010

This story had little substance, a very few funny parts. It was interesting if you wanted to know some history.

User review rating: 4 December 21, 2010

Excellent - well made ....Oscar worthy!

User review rating: 5 December 20, 2010

The acting was superior but the plot left a lot to be desired - save your dime and wait for it on video.

This is good acting.

User review rating: 5 December 15, 2010

Fantastic film. Colin Firth embodied the role of Bertie, with a edge that had me crying and chuckling through the film. Rush and Bonham-Carter were most excellent in their supporting roles. Very deserving of the Golden Globe nominations it has received.

User review rating: 5 December 12, 2010

Excellent movie

User review rating: 5 December 11, 2010

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Captivating from start to finish. Remarkable performance by Colin. Moving friendship between the King and his therapist. Finally a movie that portrays the raw emotions, pain, and challenges that manifest with stuttering in a person rather than the person with a stutter portrayed in a negative light or to poke fun at.
