Good battle scenes, alittle inaccurate story but entertaining all the same.

Excellent movie. It is hard to rival the leader (Lord of the Rings) but a good story. Sad!

Wow... this movie was amazing!!! And yea it was mostly about Achilles, but don`t all movies have to have a main character in it? And who better than brad pitt??!! But seriously, this movie was so exciting and action packed. I could have done without all the Helen- Paris mushy bull but thats part of the story right? But Pitt definitly made the movie!

VERY DISAPOINTED!!! Troy is incredibly inaccurate. It`s a discrace to one of the greatest pieces of literature ever written and an insult to Homer. For those who have read the Iliad, I`m sure you will agree with me. And for those who have not...well of course you liked it. There are way too many inaccuracies for me to overlook. The biggest one being the fact that the actual fighting lasts a mere 4-5 days, when the war really lasted 10 years! This was not an epic. Making the war so short takes away the feel of importance of the event. Remember, this was supposed to be the greatest war the world has seen up to that point in history. S

TROY sucked. If you have read the Illiad then do not see this movie. They are two separate stories.

Is it only me who thought that Eric Bana (Hector) looked even hotter than Brad Pitt?? The movie was great the only problem with it is the time line, the actual war of troy lasted a decade & in the movie the whole thing was wrapped up in a couple of weeks

That movie sucks especially wiz Brad Pitt with his role that is not suitable for him beuurk. The battle is more focused on Ecules and the camera sometimes is positioned wrongly and the viewer can`t see who the hell is being killed...

It was a great film. The only problem is that the guys are so totally hot that you forget about it being a classic greek tragedy and just remember hot great brad`s abes looked in the fighting scenes. But hey...that not a bad deal!

An excellent film, but I feel the fighting scenes were a little bit hard to keep up with... but maybe it`s because I was sitting in the front row... but ***** anyways. Kudos to all the actors, director and producers.

In an epic your supposed to laugh, cry, cling to the edge of your seat, be nervous and have fun during the whole movie, troy had that. Its exactly how i felt throughout the whole movie. It had depth, it was very gripping i was entertained the whole time. Each actor fitted their roles so well. Peter O`Toole was sensational as usual, and eric bana, brad pitt, and orlando bloom were fantastic. Its not easy to take the role of a certain character, and keep that aura the whole time, but each actor managed it, they were superb. Troy was good, but if you want to see a REAL movie about the fall of Troy then you want to watch Helen of Troy, which is a true epic movie, and puts this movie entirely to shame and just ANOTHER Hollywood mockup. I was planning on purchasing the movie when it came out on DVD but it is definately not worth it now, after seeing Helen of Troy.

Thought it would have been better titled as "Achilles". This was not the story of Helen of Troy and far too many liberties were taken with the actual story.

What the heck was that?!?!?! Mr.PETERSEN, if you are going to turn one of the most famous battles in history into a "chick flick love story", at least stay true to the mithological part of it, or we are going to have entire of teenage girls believe that your movie was historically accurate. Lord only knows that todays kids are already ignorant enough that they do not need movies like this to warp their sense of reality and history. Boys and girls, go see this movie to be entertained, but please go to the library and read the book "Homer`s Iliad". It will do you much good.

Great... a little off from the real story in terms of some events (Agamemmnon`s death) and the time frame (a decade of war), but it succeeds in delivering the myth. Supremely entertaining.

Very entertaining with a few great scenes, however the recycling of actors from other similar epics (Braveheart, Gladiator, LOTR) tainted its originality.

A really good movie, but the story was horribly ruined. Anybody who has studied mythology would laugh out loud at some of the completely ridiculous changes they made. A typical hollywood movie with a hollywood ending. Although Brad Pitt was smokin`!!!

Just because there are good actors in a movie doen`t mean that the movie will be good. they wasted all the good scenes at the starting. the story lacked alot of detail. The only good thing were the actors which doesn`t add much on to the overall likeability of this movie. Good try!!

I thought it was good - a lttle confusing, but I think it`s important to make these movies again so that each generation will know the stories. When I got home I reread the story on the internet and my husband and I have been discussing it all weekend, not the acting, but the story. As a child, I remember Helen of Troy and thought it was fantastic. I think Paris was miscast (although I know he was a playboy) he should have a been a bigger person, physically.

i thought that: what a great fine looking men are working in here!(especially BRAD PITT)what a honk of a guy and body he has and hector and orlando bloom. but rather than that the action and the story was very good. everything was good. i loved the movie.

Troy is a great movie -- much better than I thought it would be based on the reviews it is receiving. It is very fast-paced -- you don`t even notice that 3 hours have gone by. Eric Bana is great, definitely my favorite

Well done!! I`m no history fanatic, so I have no idea about its historical significance or how true the movie was to its myth, legend or saga. However for those 2 and half hours I had travelled back in time. I was entertained, and enjoyed every second of the movie, except the second it ended.

I loved it. It was non-stop excitement, whether it be the passion of battle, or the passion of the bedroom. If you`ve read Troy before, it added surprising outlooks to the story of how others interpretted it. It was wonderfully done.

I think Troy was lacking depth in the movie. It was all about killing and nothing else? how can people like this movie when there is nothing behind it.... no morale no ending, nothing but killing spree and brad pitt thats what is a good movie? i dont think so
