I loved her spiritual connection and the men she encountered along the way. Great portray of the "real" person's journey, but felt the book had more depth than the movie which is often the case. Worth seeing for sure. Loved Richard Jenkins in it as great character actor.

Terrible movie, i wouldnot waste my time/money for this movie. I have no ideal how this movie have a overall rating of 3.77.

User review rating: 3 August 19, 2010

Very slow, beautiful location shots but it dragged on unnecessarily. Not a bad flick but geared toward women for sure.

User review rating: 0 August 19, 2010

Worst time to watch is last full show....so boring!!!

User review rating: 5 August 19, 2010

Julia's performance was excellent. I really enjoyed it.

User review rating: 3 August 18, 2010

A bit of a navel-gazer. J.R. character was too self-focussed and other important issues (spousal abuse, arranged marriages etc) were just touched on and not explored.

User review rating: 4 August 18, 2010

Great scenery. Great music. Loved it.

User review rating: 0 August 18, 2010

I love the different country she was in the movie is very good, a little slow at times. Julia smile can always keep you interested in what she is saying and doing. I find it funny also.

User review rating: 5 August 17, 2010

This film made me feel alive.

User review rating: 0 August 17, 2010

The movie was really slow. The ending was ok, but still a bit boring.

User review rating: 5 August 17, 2010

OMG I loved this flic!! 1. I want to eat my face off in Italy 2. I want to find my spiritual self in India 3. Javier Bardem...hello!!! Wonderful movie, Julia is radiant...made me feel good.

Inspiring. Love the costumes.

User review rating: 4 August 17, 2010

Reminds me of Under the Tuscan Sun. Great movie.

User review rating: 4 August 17, 2010

I enjoyed the movie. I thought it was well-acted but a little slow in places.

User review rating: 3 August 17, 2010

the acting was great, but the movie is a bit too long and not nearly as good as the book

User review rating: 3 August 16, 2010

I enjoyed the story and acting however felt the middle of the film to drag a bit. In my opinion, a renter!

User review rating: 4 August 16, 2010

beautiful scenery and great acting. a little long though.

User review rating: 4 August 16, 2010

The complex journey of finding oneself, when one has spent years being everything, but that... A long film, but it kept me engaged as it followed Liz Gilbert along her path of self-confidence, self-discovery, forgiveness and internal peace. I found it very real and very humourous in spots; the humanity of it came through and that is what I connected with. I loved the lush visuals and the beauty of each location, displayed to it's advantage. Great movie!

Great movie I would watch again

User review rating: 3 August 16, 2010

Although Julia Roberts is always watchable, this movie meanders a bit too slowly to be wholly entertaining. It is a great character film, with lots of interesting characters strewn about, but still failed to have me waiting in anticipation for the next scene....

User review rating: 5 August 16, 2010

This movie was uplifting and very real, I walked out feeling inspired and enlightened. I personally think more movies like this need to be made, because it sends such positive messages about life and all that is offered in this world. However, this movie is not for everyone, only those who are open minded and seeking higher truth!

i found it good, but a bit slow. i love julie roberts - so it did not make a difference to me but my girls found it long.

User review rating: 5 August 16, 2010

My husband and I both enjoyed this movie. A little quirky which is good. Scenery and ambience was authentic. Loved it.

User review rating: 5 August 16, 2010

Great show, thought provoking if you caught the messages, a journey most people could take in life.

User review rating: 2 August 16, 2010

The book was much better than the movie!

User review rating: 1 August 16, 2010

I almost fell asleep in the first 30-45 minutes. Movie is predictable and very boring. The book has to be better. We saw it with another couple and all four of us agreed it was a waste of money and one was the biggest Julia Roberts fan you've ever known.

User review rating: 1 August 16, 2010

Julie Roberts plays a self-absorbed twit, who only once seems to catch the idea that to be happy you need to think of others more than yourself. Incredibly boring. If not for the scenery, I'd have walked out and watched TV reruns at home.

User review rating: 1 August 16, 2010

It was so long and boring. 8 people left the theatre during the movie. My husband fell asleep and was so happy when it finally ended.....Very disappointing for a Julia Roberts film.

User review rating: 4 August 15, 2010

A lot better than what the critics have been saying - sure it was long but I wasn't bored. I thought it was a pretty good movie.

Julia roberts is such an effortless actress and seeing other areas of the world is so nice.

User review rating: 4 August 15, 2010

It was a great show! It allowed one to see different areas of the world! Julia Roberts is such a effortless actress!!

User review rating: 4 August 15, 2010

A must see

User review rating: 5 August 15, 2010

Absolutely LOVED IT!!! Julia Roberts was fantastic in portraying Elizabeth Gilbert's story and all of the life lessons to be learned from her transformation. Would love to watch it everyday for the next month! I found it very inspirational.

User review rating: 4 August 15, 2010

I always enjoy movies with Julia Roberts. However, this was not her best film. I found the movie quite long. It really seems to be a "chick flick".

User review rating: 1 August 15, 2010

just sleep with anyone no commitment and whatever feels good do it

User review rating: 3 August 14, 2010

Any fan of Julia Roberts--this is a must see- Based on a true story,Julia Roberts excels in her performance. Visually--superbe--the beauty of the landscapes in three countries--Italy--India and Indonesia--magnificient

User review rating: 1 August 14, 2010

Very boring, who wants to watch someone eat pasta for over 2 hours? And we never find out what she really does besides eat and pray and love lol

User review rating: 4 August 14, 2010

Having read the book, I found I spent a lot of time focused on what had been changed, but still, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Julia is very likeable and delivers beautifully the emotions the character experiences. It's true that it's a long movie, but I'm not sure where they could have cut!

User review rating: 5 August 14, 2010

LOVED the movie!!!!!! Have nothing back to say, enjoyed it from beginning to end. Julia Roberts was perfect for the part :) Also really enjoyed the book too.

My husband and I saw this movie today. Because Julia Roberts was in it I was expecting great things. Nothing could be further from the truth. The movie wandered aimlessly from scene to scene with lots of pregnant pauses everywhere filled in by music when nothing was happening. We stayed for 2 hours of the movie hoping that things were going to change and our attention would be captivated. But it never happened. I was very disappointed. I was expecting a a very good movie with lots of lovely scenery. The plot was just not there. Sheila Rodgers

I enjoyed every single moment of the movie, as I had with the book. I smiled and cried for two hours. We should all Eat, Pray, Love more in our life. Enjoy the moment.

User review rating: 4 August 14, 2010

I really enjoyed this movie. Nice to see Julie Roberts back. Makes you wish you could take a year off and travel the world to find yourself.

User review rating: 4 August 14, 2010

Good movie, a little long. The food looks great when she was in Italy! Nice seeing Julia Roberts on the big screen again!

User review rating: 4 August 13, 2010

Great movie. Very touching, and Julia Roberts does a great job. It is long, though.

User review rating: 3 August 13, 2010

I enjoyed it but it wasn't up to Julia's blockbuster movies.
