In the aftermath of the Maple Spring movement, which protested the five-year incremental increase in student tuitions at Quebec universities, one of the most radical students, using the alias Tumulto, intends to continue the struggle against the established order and neoliberalism. He forms an underground commune with three young women who feel the same way he does.

Giutizie is a former arts student who has turned her back on her bourgeois family. Ordine Nuovo was serving a prison sentence for throwing a gas container onto a subway train. Klas Batalo, a transsexual prostitute, uses her income to help finance the movement. They start out with small acts, such as vandalism, but begin to escalate when they realize their efforts have been ineffective.
