Chef Hortense Laborie lives in the Perigord region, where she is renowned for her delicious cuisine. When the President of the Republic hires her as his personal cook, she's astonished and initially reluctant to take the job.
She quickly comes to love her new position, despite jealousy and resentment from the rest of the kitchen staff. The President loves her cooking, but Hortense has to watch her back as the other employees try to get her fired.
