New York, 2006. An actor leaves his house. In the metro, he reads "The Divine Comedy." Dante tells him "the path you are following will lead you to death." A few friends ask him, "Are they killing you again today?" The actor enters into a theatre. His transformation begins as he makes himself up, in front of a photo of Allende.
In a deserted theatre, Actor-Allende engages in a monologue that recreates the last hours of the life of the Chilean president, on 11 September 1973. Alternating with these images are archive images from that day: the onslaught of tanks and troops in La Moneda, the prisoners, and faces looking straight into the camera, like a supplicant Greek choir.
