Age restriction = boycott

June 14, 2018

Can't take my sons to this theatre and therefore it's boycotted. Especially annoying since many times it's the only screen for some films. Big fat thumbs down to Cineplex for doing this.

MERDE

July 05, 2018

I want to watch the Mr. Rogers documentary tonight with my 14 year old son. Glad to see in advance that youths are not welcome. It would have been REALLY aggravating to drive a half hour to get there only to be turned away.

Age Restrictions?

August 02, 2018

Seriously? I went to see Eighth Grade with my 13 year old daughter. The film is only showing in one theatre in BC. We drove about 50 km only to be turned away because someone might be drinking a beer in the theatre? You suck Cineplex... but we already knew that.

Went really downhill

September 17, 2016

Was a great theatre til they banned kids and families and gutted quality programming to show commercial dreck. Too bad!

another reason to hate what vancouver is becoming

November 20, 2017

A city that caters to the condo'ed couples with disposable income now has its theatre. Showing films like Lady Bird - a teenage girl's experience of leaving home, a 'mother-daughter love story' - but age-restricted so no moms and daughters can actually see it. Seriously? Someone thought this was a good idea?

A Diasappointment

October 10, 2016

This used to be one of our favorite movie theatres. It turned into a pub. I wanted to take my teenage daughter for a movie not knowing that that have made all those changes. We were asked for her ID and told that she was not allowed in because she was not 19. The explanation: wine was served and could be taken everywhere and the minors were not allowed. We left disappointed. If every movie theatre came up with such policy our youth will only be able to watch Netflix. I won't go there again.

Ridiculous that minors are not allowed!

January 11, 2018

I used to be a very regular attendee at this theatre for many years, and it was my favourite theatre, but no more. Now I have a teenage daughter, and I can't take her to movies here, even those that are not in any way inappropriate for teens, all so that adults may drink alcohol while watching a movie. Is it really that necessary to drink alcohol while watching a movie?! Can they not drink elsewhere?! Is it not possible to have them drink in a cordoned off area in the lobby, and allow under-aged persons to go inside to watch the movie? It is ridiculous and very sad. Many agree with me on this. And I agree with the others who are complaining about this issue in these reviews.

Worst experience of my life

October 29, 2015

Extremely rude and unfair! I had passes for a movie, and Carl M. was accepting dozens of passes from people behind us without checking them, so he obviously did not care if they were valid or not. But he refused to let us have tix. He said "I choose to believe them." So what was wrong with me? Seriously think he was racist.

Farewell Fifth Ave - it was nice while it lasted.

June 23, 2016

This used to be my favourite theatre in town because of the art house movies -- lots of foreign films, indie pictures, entertainment for a thinking audience. All you get now is Hollywood pulp. Okay for those who go in for gory violence, explosions and inane comedies. Also fine for people who want to load up on alcoholic beverages beforehand because that's how they're increasing revenues now. A great pity for the hundreds of mature movie goers who will now be forced to wait until the real gems of film-making come out on Netflix.

Searched out the door!!

July 01, 2019

I’ve been coming to this movie theatre for years and Own a home and have lived the area for over 35 years. When I was there July 1 for a 1 o’clock matinee I was searched to the point where it was offensive . Not only did they get me to open my small black cross body body bag they searched every nook and cranny and Ryan made me empty everything out he also grabbed my I phone . I asked to talk to the supervisor about this he came out; a tall redheaded child who looked about 12 years old and just stared at me. The redheaded manager said it was his policy. I have been coming to this venue for years ,I was here for my birthday June 9 that never happened to me ;I was carrying the same bag. I will never come back to this theatre again. I’m a 55 year women, I was carrying a small cross body bag... By the way I don’t drink and I didn’t have any booze in my bag. I will be telling all my friends about this experience... I’ve got a huge mouth Can’t believe that happened Deena FRANKS
