A exposé on the worldwide operations of Toronto-based Hudbay Minerals Inc. The film documents Hudbay’s heavy metal contamination in Flin Flon; allegations of Hudbay-sponsored violence in Guatemala that left a community leader dead, a young father paralyzed and 11 women claiming to have been gang raped; the deployment of Peruvian National Police to beat demonstrators at the company’s largest mine; and plans to build a massive open pit copper mine in Arizona in a location that is home to the only known wild jaguar in the United States.
