Alex (Lauren Graham) is heartbroken when her son Evan (Brandon Noon) is cut from the Mighty Ducks hockey team and told not to bother trying anymore. Wanting to give her son and others like him an opportunity to play, she looks to Gordon Bombay (Emilio Esteves) for help, asking him to coach the team and use his rink as their home arena. Reluctant at first, Gordon later finds his love for hockey again and joins the team. Together, they will learn how to persevere and stand up for themselves.
