The official trailer for The Hollars opens with struggling artist John Hollar at the hospital where his mother is staying after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Humorously, John's father sent his mother to Jenny Craig instead of the doctor first, because he thought "it was a weight thing." While in his hometown, John is shown reconnecting with his family. He is also expecting with his pregnant girlfriend, who does not think he even wants to have a baby, while also being seduced by an over-eager ex.
