In the first trailer for the biopic Sully, Chesley Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) looks out a New York City window and relives the sequence of events that propelled him into the limelight. As we learn, Sully was a pilot who performed an emergency landing on the Hudson River when the engines on the plane he was manning died.

As the trailer soars on, we witness Sully preparing for the flight on the day the remarkable landing took place. We see the flight's 155 passengers in their seats and watch Sully and his co-captain Jeffrey Skiles (Aaron Eckhart) ascend into the sky with the aircraft. The crux of the trailer comes when it's revealed that Sully is under investigation for the "crash," or as he calls it, "a forced water landing." He's overwhelmed with the media attention but is reassured by his wife Lorraine (Laura Linney) that what he did was in fact miraculous.
