In the "Jangly Man" trailer for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Sarah Bellows (Kathleen Pollard) explains how she came to be a monster, as she's shackled in a secluded room. In a police station where Sarah's cursed book lies on a desk, teenagers try to convince an officer that the stories in the book have come to life. When the lights go out, one of the teenagers announces that "the Jangly Man is coming" as something sinister appears.
