Conor O'Neill (Reeves) likes to gamble on sports games, but the bad habit leads to an empty pocket. When he askes his best friend, Tricky/97039/">Tricky Tobin (Hawkes) to lend him some money to pay off his debts, Tricky/97039/">Tricky refuses. He will, however, help Conor with his money troubles if he agrees to coach a corporately sponsored youth baseball team. Suddenly, Conor is thrown into the bowels of Chicago/114087/">Chicago and trying to mould a team of underprivileged, yet street-smart kids, and spending time in the company of their dedicated young teacher Ms. Wilkes (Lane).
