As the trailer for Goodbye Christopher Robin begins, Christopher Robin (Will Tilston) is saying his prayers with his nanny. We then see his father, A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) being celebrated on stage for his playwriting, as he has flashbacks of his time in the Great War. Later, he agonizes over what he's doing with his life and moves his family out of London and into the country. He wants to write a book that tell what war does to people, hoping that it will open their eyes. Christopher Robin tells him that's a good idea and assures his father he'd like to read it. Milne and Christopher Robin go for a walk in the woods, but even then, Milne is haunted by images of the war. However, his son's sunny outlook on life gets him thinking that maybe a book about his son and his stuffed bear would be a wonderful idea.
