In the futuristic premiere trailer for Ghost in the Shell, a masked geisha calmly walks down a gilded hallway, while across the busy skyline, the Major (Scarlett Johansson) stands high atop a building awaiting her cue to attack.

As the geisha serves food to what appears to be a very important group of men, a trained group of assassins suddenly enters with guns and rapidly begins to shoot. In a swift drop from the sky, the Major slams through the window to take down the armed assailants in one fell swoop.

She, human in spirit but cyborg in body, is part of an elite task force called Section 9 aimed at taking down cyber criminals. But, as they continue to defeat more evil, she and her employers soon realize there is a much more deadly enemy lying in wait.
