Rain Burroughs (Madison Iseman) has schizophrenia and has hallucinations. At night in her room, Rain looks out her window and spots a child in the attic window of her neighbors' house, crying for help. When Rain and her family confront their neighbor about the girl, she denies that a girl lives in the house. Everyone blames Rain's vision on her schizophrenia. Rain turns to her new friend Caleb (Israel Broussard) for help. When Rain and Caleb learn that her neighbor is actually a teacher at their school, things start to get complicated.
