A city doctor named Panos is welcomed into town. He sees his first patient and believes everything is fine as he starts to settle in. While driving through the forest, he runs into Danae, who lives in isolation in the woods. He wonders about the marks on her arms. He tries to ask around, to know more about her. Someone tells him that the evil ones have been marked. Danae is heard saying, "You must believe me to know what I truly am."
