In the first official trailer for the sequel Daddy’s Home 2, Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) greets his kids after school, while stepdad Brad (Will Ferrell) explains that the two have the co-dad situation under control. Later, Dusty tells the kids he has a “big surprise” for them. He says this year both families will be spending Christmas together. At the airport Brad and Dusty pick up their fathers (John Lithgow and Mel Gibson), and we see how they each have very different bonds with their dads. At the end of the trailer Dusty tells Brad he's afraid his own father is going to ruin Christmas, and Brad tells him that the only person that can ruin the holiday is the guy he sees in the mirror.
