In the trailer for Contagion, Mitch Emhoff (Matt Damon) talks to Dr. Erin Mears (Kate Winslet) about his wife Beth (Gwyneth Paltrow), who returned from a trip feeling tired. Not long after, she has a seizure and collapses. When Beth dies in the hospital hours later, it becomes clear she contracted a virus. Within days, more cases are diagnosed. People begin to panic as the illness spreads and becomes a pandemic. Borders are closed, and people are warned not to talk to anyone, not to touch anyone, and to stay away from others.
