The teaser trailer for the Netflix original film Bright opens on a police cruiser travelling down a suburban street. Inside the cruiser are two cops – Scott Ward (Will Smith) and Nick Jakoby (Joel Edgerton) – who are just going through their routine, protecting their community. Cut to a shotgun wielding monster, feminine creatures that look more horrific than human, and Will Smith wielding a sword, and it’s clear these cops’ routine is anything but normal.
