the dog looked fake

User review rating: 4 February 27, 2020

I really enjoyed this movie, well filmed, warm hearted story.

User review rating: 5 February 27, 2020

Movie was beautiful.

User review rating: 3 February 26, 2020

The fake-ass nature of the dog put me off early. A decent tear-jerker, but only 65/100 for Guru Bob.

User review rating: 5 February 26, 2020

It was a delightful movie. People who complain because the dogs are not "real" should also realize that real dogs could not show such emotion. They seemed real enough to keep the movie flowing and most enjoyably. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole movie.

I loved this movie, but did not like the CGI effects. They should have used a real dog. I understand why they wanted to go this way but it was very distracting because I do not feel the "dog" really acted like a dog.

Just loved the whole movie

Anybody who saw this movie twice must have absolutely nothing on earth to do.

User review rating: 3 February 25, 2020

Four stars if you taking kids 13 and under to see the film but only two stars if you are an adult. Where to begin what is wrong with the film? Perhaps first is Buck the CGI dog and his CGI friends who are all in The Uncanny Valley of unreal dogs. The CGI animals in The Jungle Book might have worked as we knew it was story book time but here you are being told by the narrator that this is a true story. There are ridiculous scenes in the film of Buck leading a sled through an avalanche into an ice cave and skidding about that you would swear the film was turning into a scene from the Polar Express when the train is on the ice. One truly feels sorry to think Harrison Ford must have spent hours acting in front of nothing and wondering how his career had come to this and speculating he was going the route of an ageing Mickey Rooney. On top of all this is the bombardment of Hollywood political correctness messages through the film that left one chuckling to think how angry Jack London would have been seeing what they did to his novel and distorted his characters. Like I said, if you have kids, by all means take them but if you are an adult going to see this than be sure you check in your brain at the front lobby and try to bring your 7 year old self into the theatre before viewing.

Great movie!!

User review rating: 5 February 25, 2020

Glad they use CGI animation because if they used real dogs people would complaining of animal abuse. Great scenes.

User review rating: 2 February 24, 2020

Not looking forward to an animated dog throughout the movie. What ever happened to using real dogs like Homeward Bound. That is the distinction between great movies, and children animated garbage.

User review rating: 2 February 24, 2020

Not realistic. Great for kids I think.

User review rating: 4 February 24, 2020

Reminds us all of the incredible loyalty of a dog. If only humans possessed the same qualities we see in these creatures, what a wonderful world it would be. Loved the movie, would recommend!!

User review rating: 5 February 24, 2020

Excellent performance from this movie. Great story taken from a book.

User review rating: 5 February 24, 2020

Absolutely could not tell that the animals were not real. I loved them all! Do not let the naysayers stop you from seeing this movie! Like others, cannot wait until the DVD comes out, can't wait to see it again!

User review rating: 4 February 24, 2020

A bit too animated for my liking but fun to watch. Excellent for children if they didn't have so many drinking scenes.

User review rating: 5 February 24, 2020

Besides being a great story, the beauty of the Yukon was breathtaking! The acting of Harrison Ford and the dogs was fantastic. All in the theater audience agreed as we all were talking about it as we exited the theater. We need more PG movies like this!

Well done story. Touching and sweet.

User review rating: 2 February 23, 2020

Saw this tonight and I didn't mind the animation but the movie, itself, was kind of "hokey." To me it was a kids' movie. Sorry that I went!

User review rating: 4 February 23, 2020

Loved it! Very heart warming. With some tears and a few smiles. My husband read the book as a child, and really enjoyed the movie!

User review rating: 5 February 23, 2020

Wonderful movie , fun for whole family.

User review rating: 4 February 23, 2020

Beautiful tearjerker movie. Incredible scenery. Best to avoid bringing children to the initial 30 minutes containing animal abuse ... very uncomfortable even for an adult

User review rating: 5 February 23, 2020

Beautiful movie.

User review rating: 4 February 23, 2020

Lovely scenery and different from a lot of the movies out there, I enjoyed it!

User review rating: 5 February 23, 2020

Excellent movie. Harrison Ford did a good job playing this kind of role. Touching story. The dog was not real so made this movie much better. Still they gave a home to street dog. Dog does not talk in this movie.

User review rating: 5 February 23, 2020

Good movie. I don’t care if the dog was not real.

Couldn’t have asked for a better emotion jerking movie. Just keeps you wanting to know what’s going to happen next. Very well done

User review rating: 5 February 23, 2020

User review rating: 5 February 23, 2020

Yes! YES! YES! Better then I expected, wife and kids were impressed as well

User review rating: 5 February 23, 2020

I will be looking for this movie on DVD! Great family cuddle up together movie

User review rating: 2 February 23, 2020

I was really looking forward to this movie. I hadn’t seen the trailer so I thought it would use real animals. This is a good, KIDS, Disney movie - good for a family. If you are an adult, looking for an adult movie based on a classic book, you will be disappointed. I found the cgi animals unrealistic and distracting. Overall disappointed.

This is one of the best movies we have recently seen. Jack London wrote this book in 1905 and it has been done several times, but is worth you dime to see!

User review rating: 4 February 22, 2020

Nice family movie... We all enjoyed very much

User review rating: 5 February 22, 2020

I loved it and the dog model for the movie came from a dog who was living in the streets. If was a real dog some people will complaining animal abuse. Chill out please.

User review rating: 2 February 22, 2020

A movie about Jack London's life who was a great adventurer could have been better told had they left the CGI at the door. This was obviously geared towards kids so as a Disney animation it could have been successful but the intermix using fake dogs was subpar - sadly a miss for me.

User review rating: 4 February 22, 2020

Best movie I have seen in a long time. It made my day!

Best movie I have seen in a long time. It made my day!

User review rating: 2 February 21, 2020

I could get beyond the CGI animals, it ruined the movie for me. How someone could write that the animals looked so realistic needs to stop playing video games, go outside and visit a dog park to get an idea what a real dog looks like.

User review rating: 5 February 21, 2020

Took my 4 kids aged 4 to 13 and we all really enjoyed it! It was very well done and the animals are very realistic. You almost can't tell they're all CGI. I definitely recommend it.
