So what was doom about? a genome. What is the Game About? A soldier going to hell to save humanity. which 1 is better. the game for. you know y? because there is so much stuff that didn`t make any scense at all in the movie. but while playing the game... well lets just say the game Owned, crushed, and made the movie wish it was never made.

Maybe Doom didn`t follow the pc game line but for a action si-fi movie the sound in 5.1 DD was great,it was all over the room. I`ve seen a lot worse movies. If your not a big Doom fan & you like si-fi movies get Doom. If you have 5.1 sound you`ll love Doom. "LOTS OF BLOOD & GUTS" So don`t be a ass,put it on late at night when the kids are in bed!!!

HAHAHAHAHA! I watched this movie because i got a free pass. I feel sorry for anyone who paid money for this. Because they were either brainwashed, kidnapped, missing brain cells, drunk, got lost, or a combination of the above. Absolutely trash, like the kind you find at the bottom of a Macdonalds bin. Games to movies have been done well. But the makers of this movie didn`t know that and decided to follow the route of House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark, by making a BASAAAAAD movie. Downfalls, acting, story, the only redeeming factor is that some of the creatures are neat. Hard to make a good movie out of "cool" monsters though. P

It was great, this was the best movie ever I really loved when Frodo was bitten by the spider.. wait that was the movie in my head.. okay this was Quake or Doom or something, it made me want to chew my fingers off and to distract the pain was to replay another movie in my head. Owwwwww the pain.

It`s not bad... dialogue could`ve been better... mostly everything was explained: how the monsters go there; who was effected; why this happened. Satisfactory special effects. Adapatation of the game is horrible, but as a stand-alone action-thriller it meets all the necessaries. Much like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, the movie had little or no relation to the game itself. You have to understand that there are certain things in a game that doesn`t make a good adapatation for a film. The editors and directors modify the storyline for a reason. Yeah, anyone who liked this movie has obviously never played the game before, if they had, they would realize that this movie is NOTHING like the game. Granted, it has SOME of the creatures, but the story line didnt deserve to be changed. Resident Evil had a Bio-Toxin that mutated humans. Doom had an Injection that mutated humans. the game was classic, and the movie butchered it.

It`s just another Resident Evil movie except it`s on Mars. The movie is NOTHING like the game, and if it were, alot more people would have enjoyed it. They changed around 99% of the story-line. It has nothing to do with Hell, there was only a fraction of monsters from the game, this movie doesn`t deserve to be called Doom. In about 15 years, when people have forgotten this "Doom" it should be re-made the way it SHOULD have been in the first place.

I made another comment earlier ...but I also want to make the comment about how many kids were in the theatre...really young kids, my guess was around 5. entirely inappropriate for them to be in a 18A movie. Their screaming and crying made what bits of the movie that COULD have been tolerable, intolerable. People, leave your kids at home for the 18A movies. Babysitters are available. Or rent. Think of the rest of the movie people.

It was ok in that there was some plot which had similarities to Doom. It is mostly a gore action movie.

Very close to the game - but the story is garbage and the acting is garbage. Don`t waste your money unless you`re a diehard fan of the game.

there`s not plot...WHAT SO EVER!! they dont explain how the monsters got there it`s just some locked place in a base and they dont look scary and the rock playing in this movie just made it at a point where its a joke...not even a clown would like this movie

I thought this was the best adaptation of a video game, turned film. There was lots of action, good acting(especially from Karl Urban), wicked effects, and a fairly decent plot. I`m just glad it wasn`t cheesy like the Resident Evil films. This wasn`t The Rock`s best performance, but he was good in it. This film was totally worth the money.

People who trash this movie expect too much. The story was OK. The scary parts were well done. The movie needed more monsters and more of the futuristic weapsons. It appears to be set up for a sequel at the end.

I think you had to really like Doom the game to appreciate the movie. For sheer entertainment in the action movie sense (which means you have to shut off the part of your brain that desires a storyline). Too bad, as the actual Doom storyline is fantastic and all the directors and writers had to do was follow it. I was impressed with the reincarnation of the UAC site but was disappointed in the lack of monster variation and gun usage. The "BFG" line was hilarious and finally gave a nod to the unofficial long form name of "BFG". Overall, I am disappointed in the directors and writers for ruining a great opportunity to make an epic series

I thought doom was a good movie, it was done kind of like the game which was nice, it keeps you on your toes for most of the movie, there are some boring parts in the movie but i think every movie has those points.

The best thing about this movie was Karl Urban. I sat there for 2 hours just staring at him cause he is soo hott!! The movie was alright, lacked a storyline.. but what do you expect from a movie that comes from a VIDEO GAME?

THE ONLY THING THAT WAS GOOD ABOUT THE MOVIE WAS THE ACTION SCENES. THAT IS ABOUT IT, THE ONLY REASON WHY THE MOVIE MADE SO MUCH MONEY WAS BECAUSE OF THE "ROCK".

The movie was O.K. 4 Stars for only being DOOM & the first person shooter scene. There was so much more which should of been added in the story, but what do I know. My story would of made over 50 Million in the opening weekend LOL

It was a good movie all around but the plot was not totaly faithful to the games. Everything else was quite good and competently done, even the acting and the FPS sequence were good. Anyone who likes action movies should see this but if you are a harcore DOOM fan you will be dissapointed by the plot. 4 out of 5

Considering half the time they never even shot until the alien thing was already around the corner kinda made it just completly unrealistic.. even for doom. The acting was pitiful.. the rock said the same three lines like 10 times each throughout the movie. 1) Shut the **** up 2) We need Soldiers!!! 3) We are the reinforcments! Kinda stupid.. I guess they haven`t told The Rock he can`t act. But I guess he`s stronger than everyone so lol.. Anyways it was really bad..

Enjoyed the effects and the movie overall, disappointed by plot but wasn`t expecting one anyways..., was thoroughly appaled at the number of small children brought in by their fathers, the game is questionable for children as it is but the movie is way over the top!

It was good. Good action/story. After playing ALL the doom games [yes, I am over 30! LOL] - I have to agree with other people`s posts that the writers should have played the @#$# game first. This could have been so freaking good had they stayed true to that. Do not get me wrong ; this is a good action film. Just not true to the story/plot of the Doom games nor the shear terror either. 4/5.

I liked this movie. entertaining and relatively suspensful. Many of the characters where interesting and they was a unique sharing of lead roles throughout the film that made veiwing interesting. If you like sci fi and action, check it! jen
