Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced today that Meghan gave birth to a boy early this morning. They posted the news on their official Instagram account, writing: "It's a boy! Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are Overjoyed to announce the Birth of their child."
The newborn weighs a healthy 7 lbs. 3 oz. His name has not yet been announced, but the post confirmed more details will be provided in the next few days.
The post read: "We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019.
"The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.
"More details will be shared in the forthcoming days."
The royal baby is the seventh in line of succession after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince Harry.
The couple will be taking their baby home to nearby Windsor, where they'll take take part in a photo op with the new arrival later this week.

"Taking baby home". Wonder where she ended up giving birth since she has originally proclaimed it was to be a home birth. But definitely congratulations to the family. Now can't wait to see what the name will be.
