The House of Cards set outside of Baltimore, Maryland was shut down this morning due to a shooting just one mile away.
“We have been in touch with local authorities and are aware of a shooting situation that happened about a mile away from the House of Cards set. Production on the show has not been impacted,” Netflix and Media Rights Capital said in a joint statement to Variety.
Five employees of Advanced Granite Solutions were shot -- three are dead and two are in critical condition. The shooter has been identified as Radee L. Prince, 37, who worked for the company as a machine operator. He's also being sought in connection to a shooting that occurred shortly afterwards at a car dealership where he shot one man, then fled. The victim was able to identify Prince to police by name.
Harford County sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said during a press conference this afternoon: "There’s an individual out there on the loose who’s committed one of the most heinous acts in our county, we certainly consider him armed and dangerous."
Many location scenes for the political drama House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, are filmed in Maryland. Filming is expected to resume tomorrow. ~Alexandra Heilbron
Update: Wilmington Police Chief Robert J. Tracy said the suspect was caught at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday night (Oct. 18) near a high school in Newark, Delaware. He was carrying a .380 handgun and was quickly taken down by police when he tried to flee on foot.
Police have released more details, saying Prince was scheduled to work at Advanced Granite Solutions on Wednesday morning, but when he arrived, he pulled out a gun, killing fellow employees Bayarsaikhan Tudev, 53; Jose Hidalgo Romero, 34; and Enis Mrvoljak, 48.
They say there's at least one shooting per day in the States. Not sure if the problem is guns or mental health issues but either way, they should figure it out.
Coincidence, that a nearby shooting close to a show about the President and White House / US Gov prompts them to shut down. They are showing some action about the shotting. But in real life it isn't happening. The Gov doesn't shut down to discuss it. They don't stay up all night to work on gun control laws or mental health laws. How about affordable health care and affordable medication so people can get help they need?
This is why I like it where I live. Gun control! The right to bare arms was written over 100 years ago. When society evolves, so should laws.

Most guns used in America are used to kill gang members or innocent people not to kill the ones who are doing the killing – because most mass shooting killers end up either killing themselves or surrender to those trying to arrest them! Tell me what good of having a gun in the Las Vegas shooting would of been most of the crowd thought the shooter was at ground level & would not have been able to shoot the real shooter because of the height - distance & angle he was away from them plus they would have just took out their guns to kill each other thinking they were killing the shooter making the death toll higher! US-America has changed their motto from - In God we Trust - to - In Guns & Trump we Trust! God told me it is not only the shooter who is responsible for all the deaths & casualties that happen by gun fire but it is also the ones - who created the gun - builded it - sold it – etc. God used the game of hockey to explain this to me as it is not just the one who shoots & scores that gets credit for the goal but all the people who pass him the puck! So if you are doing God's will you will be rewarded in heaven & if you are doing satan's will you will be rewarded in hell! & by the way more people died each day from auto related deaths then wars so guess who but it on the persons heart to create automobiles etc. Not God he came to set us free from death & distruction but satan came to kill & destroy! John Plum: we are truly fortunate that we have gun control. It protects us from people who clearly have a mental illness called hyperreligiousity. We are also fortunate to have universal health care so that persons experiencing mental illness are able to get the care and treatment they need. Best of luck to you.
