Actress Felicity Huffman, 56, was arrested at gunpoint at her home on Tuesday.
According to Deadline, she was among 46 people who were indicted in a multimillion-dollar scheme in which wealthy parents allegedly paid substantial bribes to get their children into top universities.
She and her husband, William H. Macy, 68, and their two daughters, Sofia, 18, and Georgia, 16, were asleep in their Los Angeles home when seven Federal Bureau of Investigation agents came to their house at 6 a.m. and drew their guns, ordering her to surrender.
The court documents state that she allegedly "made a purported charitable contribution of $15,000 … to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter." Later, she allegedly "made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so."
Following her indictment on Tuesday, she was released on a $250,000 bond and was ordered to surrender her passport. She's scheduled to appear on March 29 in federal court in Boston.
Also indicted was Fuller House star Lori Loughlin, who was out of town Tuesday morning when the arrests were being made. Her husband, clothing designer Mossimo Giannulli, was arrested, and appeared in court alongside Huffman.
The main facilitator of the conspiracy was William Rick Singer, an admissions consultant who allegedly helped his clients get into top universities. He was the government's primary cooperating witness and pleaded guilty to the charges in the case. ~Marriska Fernandes

Why is it that they are publishing the names of the 2 actresses but not the names of the CEOs or lawyers? I,as a member of the public need to know that that a lawyer that I am using or might use in the future or someone that I might do business with is involved in shady dealings.

Really, so many agents and guns out for giving an admissions person $15,000. I think this was a little bit too much. It's a crime and I'm glad the celebs aren't getting away with it, but really, 6am wake up to do this was over the top. Or, maybe they thought do it now while no media is around and had to get all the CEO's and celebs at the same early time so that word didn't spread to the others so they could flee....who knows. Really, this is a good thing. Let's celebs know they can't just get their kids into a prestigious university while others actually tried hard to get in, but were denied to just make room for these privileged kids. I heard Lori Loughlin's kids didn't even care to go to the Univ of So. Cal. Their mother committed a crime to get them in and they could care less about being there and getting an 'education'...
This us outrageous! We live in Canada and when our kids went to University and College we could not get an education loan and had to cash investments to pay for tuition, etc. We would have paid off the loans when investments matured but no way. Other kids could not get student loans from the Banks because their parents made too much money, even though the parents would not pay to send their kids for an education. I wonder if these People's children even earned a degree or paid for that also.
