In the second official trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Split, we see three girls get into a car while they wait for their father to put groceries in the trunk. Suddenly the father disappears and a stranger gets into the drivers seat. He pepper sprays one of the girls and kidnaps them, locking all three in a dungeon-like room in an eerie basement. 

The man, who we learn is named Michael, makes an appointment with a therapist, whose voiceover describes that Michael has 23 different identities inside of him. As the trailer goes on, we meet several of these personalities, including a nine-year-old boy, and a woman who tries to console the girls. The girls decide the only way to escape is to convince one of the identities to let them out. The therapist’s voice comes back and states, “There is no limit to what he can become.”
