In the second trailer for Knives Out, Walt Thrombey (Michael Shannon) is telling police officer Elliott (LaKeith Stanfield) about his father, crime novelist Harlan Thrombrey (Christopher Plummer), who was one of the best-selling mystery writers of all time. Meanwhile, Joni Thrombey (Toni Collette) asks Elliott who the other man (Daniel Craig) at the family home is, and is told he's Benoit Blanc, a private investigator of great renown. The police go over the events of the night of Walt Thrombey's demise with the family as they try to piece together what happened. The family believes it was a suicide, but Blanc suspects foul play.
