In the trailer for Acrimony, a therapist asks Melinda (Taraji P. Henson) if she thinks she has an anger problem. She replies, "Don't tell me I don't have the right to be angry. You don't know what he did to me." The therapist asks Melinda to tell her what happened, from the beginning. In flashbacks, we see Melinda and her husband Robert (Lyriq Bent) in happier times. However, over the course of years, things change and Robert winds up cheating. The therapist tries to get Melinda to look at the situation differently, but Melinda, crazed by anger, goes to extremes to get revenge on her husband and his new woman.
