The trailer for Friend Request begins with a young woman named Laura (Alycia Debnam-Carey) enjoying her birthday party with friends and posting it to social media. She soon finds out, though, that one of her social media friends, Marina (Liesl Ahlers), isn’t happy and the two have a public falling out. After Laura unfriends Marina, she receives a horrifying video showing Marina committing suicide. In what was believed to be a ritual act, Marina’s death unleashes an evil upon Laura that terrorizes her and her friends at every turn. 

Friend Request opens in theatres September 22, 2017.
