In the official trailer for The Hero former movie star Lee Hayden (Sam Elliott) is recording a product commercial. He later learns he’s set to receive a Lifetime Achievement award from the Western Appreciation Guild, though he’d prefer a script or a film role. Estranged from his daughter and fading in the limelight, Lee hasn’t done much since his major film “The Hero.” Accompanied by a beautiful confidant, Charlotte (Laura Prepon), at the Western Appreciation Guild ceremony and after giving a heartfelt speech, Lee’s career takes an upward turn. With his career on the mend he decides it’s also time to fix his relationship with his daughter and be the “hero” he should have been.
