A group of recruits go through Advanced Infantry Training at Fort Polk, Louisiana's infamous Tigerland. This is the last stop before Vietnam for tens of thousands of young men in 1971.
The story focuses on a young recruit (Colin Farrell) seeking to be discharged. To avoid going to Vietnam, he sets out on a campaign to get every other trainee in his company ejected from the Army.
