The Odyssey

In 1948, the fortune generated by the his co-invention of the Aqua-Lung allowed Jacques-Yves Cousteau to embark on a series of maritime expeditions that would make him famous throughout the world. But the costs associated with his numerous businesses, his extramarital affairs and his gradual detachment from his family found him estranged from his children, especially his son Philippe. The organization of a final trip from Calypso to Antarctica would provide Cousteau with a last opportunity to get closer to his family. And to make the population aware of the environmental causes that were beginning to interest him, thanks to Philippe’s involvement.
