Two ex-prostitutes, Marie-Claude and Marianne, who work at a help center for drug addicts, talk about their difficult journeys.
Meanwhile, a historian gives a short portrait of prostitution in Montreal since 1919. We also see Valerie, a young woman trapped by the neverending circle of drugs-sex-money. Claudia, a transexual, tells her story, as does a transvestite named Audrey, and Barbara, who describes herself as a hermaphrodite.
While Marie-Claude tries to forget her past by painting, Marianne gives loud speeches in the street preaching the decriminalization of prostitution and the rights of sex trade workers.
