One Room Kitchen is the story of a happy middle-class family with limited earnings. They live in a chawl where the residents are very large-hearted and emphatic although they are staying in the tiny spaces of their rooms. Life is sailing smoothly until the family feels the need to purchase a one room kitchen housing apartment that fits their budget.

The need to save each money distances them from their friendly neighbours until the true meaning of happiness unfolds in their life. The Dancing Queen of Bollywood, Helen will also be a part of this venture where she plays a Catholic woman who awaits her son who went missing during the Kargil war.
