As a major part of their film-school project, Dave, an American, along with his Indian-American friend Jack set out to film a documentary in India, on Indian culture. After going to India, Dave is overwhelmed by the seemingly chaotic conditions, the living styles, and the cultural heritage.

Despite the contradictory reality that he experiences, Dave is gradually drawn towards Indian culture and falls in love with Rao's daughter, Swapna. What happens when Swapna and her parents realize that an American wants to be a part of their family? Is it possible to reconcile the distinct cultures and bridge the barriers?
