France, 2012. The entire country is worked up about a bill proposing marriage for all. During the process, Mathias Théry begins filming a documentary on the subject, focusing on the personality and point of view of his mother, sociologist Irène Théry. Between lunch with President François Hollande and various radio interviews, Irène, engaged in the political and legislative debate, answers her son's questions about the meaning of marriage, filiation, procreation, homosexual parenthood, etc.

In order to make these issues more comprehensible to ordinary people, Mathias uses puppets and stuffed animals, which he stages in situations inspired by debates and clashes in the streets, the media and the National Assembly.
