Keystone

Keystone Movie Poster

The names Mack Sennett and Keystone conjure images of primitive knockabout comedies featuring Hollywood legends like Charlie Chaplin, Mabel Normand, and the Keystone Cops. There was, however, much more hidden within the Sennett catalog: beauty, sophistication, and some of the funniest early films ever produced.

These films are painstakingly restored in Michigan for the anniversary of the Keystone Studio. The screening is hosted by noted film historian and series producer Paul E. Gierucki, who will provide a brief introduction to each film and answer questions from the audience.
