Diane is furious when she finds that her spouse, Parisian editor Hermann, is about to publish a book by her former lover, Worms, in which he writes revealing details of their affair. On the same day, at a burial, Hermann literally bumps into Anne, a clumsy young woman with whom he formerly lived.
A few steps away, Worms takes a photograph with his cell phone and sends the compromising snap to Diane. He then makes a bet with her: if Hermann does not speak to her about this meeting to the cemetery, she will stop demanding edits to his manuscript. Not only does Diane lose her bet, but when she returns home that evening, she finds Anne lying naked in their bed. In anger, Diane avenges herself by sleeping with Anne’s husband for Anne, a doctor for whom she used to work.
