Rev. Robert 'Bob' Henley (Jack Standing), a young minister felt by his peers not to be strong willed enough to resist the temptations of city life, is sent off to a tiny town known on the map as Placer's Corners but in the west as Hell's Hinges.

William S. Hart plays a man who has no taste for either law and order or religion. The minister's beautiful sister, however, causes him to have a change of heart for the better. As one man falls from grace another rises to it. The "man of God," seduced by a whore, becomes so depraved he leads a frenzied mob in burning down his own church.

Silent film with music score created by Reg Hart.
