When the body of a family's servant is discovered close to where teenaged Aarushi Talwar was found murdered in her home, her parents (Neeraj Kabi and Konkona Sensharma) are accused of killing them both. Since Aarushi had allegedly had an affair with the servant, the police label it an honor killing but there is little evidence to support the accusations.

The film follows the proceedings of the police investigation and trial and presents various accounts of the murders. The differences in the stories of those involved makes the search for the truth that much more imperative.
