Join MP Olivia Chow and Jack Layton, Leader of Canada's New Democratic Party, for the Toronto Premiere screening of Downstream. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Olivia Chow, on the social and environmental impacts of the tar sands. Panelists include Jack Layton, Academy Award and Emmy Award nominated director Leslie Iwerks, Academy Award nominated producer Philip Alberstat, and Christie Ferguson, Greenpeace Climate and Energy Campaign Coordinator.

The Aboriginal community of Fort Chipewyan, in northern Alberta, is located downstream from one of the most polluting oil operations in the world. Downstream follows Dr. John O'Connor as he fights for the lives of these residents who are dying from rare forms of cancer.
