Chup Chup Ke
Jeetu (Shahid Kapoor), a small town hustler, is constantly in debt. His father and his fiancée Pooja (Sushma Reddy) are made to suffer the consequences of his instability and his debts. Feeling he is unworthy of Pooja, Jeetu jumps into the sea to drown himself so his family can claim his life insurance and pay off some of his debts.
However, Jeetu is found entangled in fishing nets by a pair of fishermen who take him home with them. They read a note in Jeetu’s pocket that makes them think he’s a millionaire, so they hatch a scheme to give Jeetu's services to Prabhat Singh Chauhan in exchange for money they owe.
When Jeetu comes to, he pretends to be a deaf-mute and plays along with them. Chauhan's niece Shruti (Kareena Kapoor) also turns out to be a mute but not deaf. Jeetu's secret is revealed one night when Shruti and her cousin Meenakshi discover him drunk and singing. They promise to keep his secret if he'll pretend to be Shruti’s lover in order to scare off a greedy man who has agreed to an arranged marriage with Shruti.
