Sid Caesar, at age 85, is arguably the most influential maverick in the Comedy on Wry series. "Your Show of Shows" (and later "Caesar's Hour") were landmarks in the heady days of live television, setting the standard for comedy writing and performance. Starring Caesar, Imogene Coca, Howard Morris and others, the classic comedy sketches, interspersed with music and dance numbers, were truly groundbreaking. A videotaped recording of the remarkable reunion of Sid Caesar and his writers, including Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Larry Gelbart, Neil Simon, Mel Tolkin and others (minus Woody Allen, who also wrote for Caesar) result in this revealing, hilarious, behind-the-scenes look at comedy brilliance.
