TOO LOUD!!!!!

July 05, 2017

My husband and I went to the show last night and went to the preferred seating theatre. Lovely seats - Then the preview started. Very loud but thought like any commercial, they are always loud. The show started and the volume stayed the same. My husband is hearing impaired and wears hearing aids. Last night he did not have them on, plugged his ears with his fingers and could still hear the movie clearly. I have good hearing and plugged my ears as well but had to leave the show within 5 min , if that, because my ears were hurting. If I can't handle that level, what about the children in the show that are going to be damaged. There are industry standards in manufacturing that require ear protection for that decibel level.

Poor poor projection

January 05, 2017

Even though ticket and concession prices are high (they are everywhere though). Cleanliness is only fair. My main sticking point that makes this theatre a no go is the actual movie experience. Last 3 movies we went to see they left 2 house lights on that glared on the screen, the movies are extremely unfocused and dark (both 3D and regular). Not sure if they need new equipment or a new projectionist, or both. Skip this theatre until they fix it go elsewhere.

some staff are great customer service same depends on staff member, female manager very rude no customer service skills, male mgr very helpful, some movies are never available here. Concessions way overpriced, if prices were more in line, they would sell lot more

worst theatre in ontario

May 02, 2015

I remember when this theatre opened, and it was a thing of beauty. No one cares about it now. It could not be more sad.

our money will keep going out of town

February 08, 2015

Wife and I came for a movie and this is the last time we will patronize your place. First off, the seats and floor were dirty. Spilled pop where we were. No care about the place. Second, the restaurant at the cinema was closed and you couldn't get anything decent to eat to save your life. Lastly, when the movie was over, our car and 3 others had "for your information" tickets that apparently were not tickets but it was clear that whoever wrote this was collecting plate numbers. That doesn't seem right. It said you should park in areas with lines but there was lines (just barely there!) and NO signs posted saying people SHOULDN'T or CAN'T park where the vehicles were. Nothing like bullying patrons and forcing them to go elsewhere. We will do just that and tell others to avoid that mall and your cinema. Whitby and Belleville are already places we shop at regularly. Downtown doesn't have anything so thanks for the great customer experience. It's a wonder how that empty mall and your cinema is still in business. It won't be when it is closed.

Horrible Sound

January 15, 2015

My wife and I traveled from Bancroft today to see The Imitation Game. We were advised that this movie was open to new mothers and their babies. We had taken in this matinee in the past with no problems. Today, however, the sound was so low my wife could not hear the movie. I asked the "manager" if the sound could be increased a little but she said she turned the sound down so as not to disturb the babies and was not willing to increase the volume. We saw Gone Girl several weeks ago, with new mothers, and experienced no sound problems whatsoever.Because we are 1 1/2 hours away from Peterborough your Thursday matinees worked out well for us in the past but now we will probably be forced to go to Belleville because of the inability of your "manager" to manage the sound properly.
