The epic premiere trailer for War for the Planet of the Apes begins on a sunny and secluded beach, as Caesar (Andy Serkis), a chimpanzee leader, rides on horseback alongside a little girl who clings to the back of Maurice, a large orangutan (Karin Konoval). "I did not start this war. I offered you peace," Caesar declares as throngs of army soldiers aim gunfire at the apes in the humid climes of the jungle. "I showed you mercy," he says to a terrified young soldier standing unsteadily on the front lines. "But you're here now," he concedes, ready for battle. It's humans versus apes now, and each side must prepare for the fight of their lives — until only one race remains.
